A friend recommended that we check out El Pulgarcito, a Salvadorean restaurant. Never heard of it before but it's a few doors down from Laksa King.

We dropped in on a Tuesday (around 1:15pm). A bunch of people grabbed takeout. The inside is small and decor is simple but there's about 7 tables and a couple seats by the window to people watch.

The menu consists of breakfast, salad, lunch and dinner options. There's also a few dessert and drinks. There's a large menu board with pictures when you first walk in but the regular menu is up on the counter. There's even a small section with spices, sauces and grains.

    - Horchata ($4.00) - this was slightly  different than the usual Mexican horchata. A little creamier, slightly reminiscent of chocolate but you still get the cinnamon taste.
    - Tamale chicken (#16) ($6.00) - expensive for a tamale but our friend said it was her favourite. Good but it really should be $3.00.
    - Enchiladas (#21) ($10.00 regular) - we opted for pork enchiladas over a red sauce. Lame that they charge an extra $1.00 if you want the sauce spicy, green or mole. It came with a side of rice, beans, salad and sauce. Rice and salad were standard fare. Beans had a pleasant texture but were so, so salty on its own. Enchiladas themselves were solid. Pork was tender and the red sauce hit the spot.
    - Tacos (#19) ($10.00 for 3) - we went with the fish tacos which are topped with a pico di gallo mixture. The fish was excellently pan fried but over salted. Such a bummer. The salt seemed to be a running theme in all our dishes. The sauce was delicious and homemade. Wish we could have got more.

Decent Salvadorean spot but too salty for my liking. I'll wait for the Salvadorean church pop up to get my fix next time.

This is a very simple Mexican Salvadoran restaurant that offers dine-in and takeout. There is no alcohol but you can enjoy other drinks like horchata, Inka cola, sodas, water, etc.

During our visit, my friend and I were not super hungry but needed to grab a quick dinner before going to PNE playland.  We ordered some plantains to share and two tacos a piece. The plantains came with sour cream. The plantains were on the sweeter side compared to other plantains I have had but they were still tasty.

The two tacos were served in corn tortillas. One of them was pork and the other was chicken. Both of the taco meats lacked flavor which was a little sad as I had high hopes since it seemed like a quite authentic place.

Note they have an old restroom where you go into a basement. It is unisex and quite clean just an odd place for it.

The restaurant looks dirty. I asked for the food to eat in, they served it to us in styrofoam containers. The server didn't look like she cared much at all about anything. I heard her lie to the table behind us that carnitas was beef. Its never beef. The food was just ok, not good. So overall, not worth the prices they're charging.
